OOTD- Ripped Jeans

Monday, December 29, 2014

                     Hello Fashionistas!

Today, Katie and myself decided to go shopping in town, stop off for a Costa and visit the nearby fair. Because we are both photography students ( if you follow me on social media, you might already know) we wanted to play around with our settings on our cameras and get creative. Katie kindly offered to shoot me for my blog.

My OOTD below is very casual and I would wear these garments out and about, maybe to college.

Nikki Tote Black- Fiorelli £29.00
Puma Suede Classic Fallen Rock Taupe- Footlocker £20.00
Turtle Neck Sweater- New look £8.99
Black Collar Check Coat - New look £37.00
Ripped Black Jeans (not very visible in this photo) - Newlook £20.00

You will have to excuse how short my legs look, I can assure you that they don't normally look like this, and for some reason the rips on my jeans do not show up very well.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

MAX FACTOR CONCEALER REVIEW

Saturday, December 27, 2014

Hello fashionistas!

Today, I am going to be doing a review of Max Factor's Master Touch Under-eye Concealer. I bought this concealer a week ago and have been hooked ever since!

At the time of purchase Max Factor were doing a deal where you spend £15.00 and you get a free gift box of goodies worth up to £31.00. In this gift box, was a mascara, a red lippy, eye shadow and a nail polish.

I have been dying to try a new concealer for ages, but hadn't got round to buying a new one.
This concealer was around £7.99, which isn't too bad compared to other brands.

I had to ask a beauty consultant to help me find my colour, because let's face it we've all had that struggle to find the right foundation/concealer.

There's so much I could say about this product, first of which is that it is amazing! It applies evenly and conceals all of my pores, blemishes, &spots. I would say that the finish is more matte then dewy and creates a flawless look; which I prefer.  I don't even need to apply foundation when I have this on because it already looks like I am wearing it.
If anyone is looking for a new concealer, I would definitely recommend this one!
I would say that I  use a large amount every day and often have to top it up throughout the day, so I am not sure how long it will last because the tube is quite small.

I apply this concealer with my flat Mac makeup brush (very similar to the F80 by Mac). This brush is usually used for foundation but I have found that it works better to conceal my under eye bags and blemishes across my skin.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

My Top 10 Favourite Online Shops

Tuesday, December 9, 2014

Hello Fashionistas!

Today, I thought I would do a quick post about my favourite online shops; if I find anymore I will update this.

As I work at the weekends and attend college during the week, I don't have a lot of free time to go out and shop so I do the majority of my shopping online. A lot of these websites I have found through other people and from watching YouTube channels.

1. Pretty little thing: I am sure a lot of you have already heard about this site, it's one of my top 5 favourite clothing sites. The quality of the garments is incredible and at such low prices, you'd be a fool to miss out! I especially love that the website offers 15% discount for students, helping a broke gal out. I have purchased some of the nicest play-suits from this site for less than £20.00!!!, If you love a bargain (like me ) then you should definitely check this site out.

2. Choies: This is an amazing site that sells a variety of clothing items at discounted prices.
I think that this clothing company is based in China (forgive me if I am wrong) so unless you're a patient customer then bare this in mind when ordering! I have watched so many online shopping hauls and this store is frequently mentioned by people from the UK, US, AUS etc. This shop offers free shipping worldwide which I think is amazing because I have splashed out so much money on shipping items aboard and it takes forever to arrive!.

3. Sheinside: Like Choies, Sheinside is based in China. Sheinside items are often discounted but are of very good quality!. I have had no issues with items being delivered (some people have complained about their's being lost in the post)
The garments look exactly the same as they do on the site.
I would advise you all to be aware of the clothing sizes- because they are from China they may come up a lot smaller in person, so for example if you're a UK size 8 (S) then you may have to order a size 10/12 (M) on the site.

4. Ebay!: Everyone's obviously heard of Ebay, its one of the most popular shopping websites out there! I usually buy gadgets and things for my phone on it, however quite recently I was watching (TheVintageVision)'s YouTube videos on Ebay Fashion Dupes and was inspired to hunt down some little fashion gems.

5. Simply Different: This is more of a jewellery shop, for those accessories mad shoppers. There are SO many different indie/vintage jewellery shops online at the moment ( deadseajewellery& crimsonjewellery) to name a few. Simply different is one of my favourite stores, it is so affordable and I've ordered so many necklaces and rings from the site. They always wrap them up in cute little gift bags with sequins inside them and usually include a thank you note for shopping with them, which I think is so nice.

6. Bank: Now I know that Bank has a high street store as well as an online one, but I have only just recently discovered it. I stumbled upon it (online) by accident and haven't looked back! It reminds me a bit of Asos (which is also a fabulous store) in the sense that it is one big store that offers loads of different brands for example Superdry and Lipsy. One of my favourite brands is Blonde&Blonde because the clothes are very fashionable (very indie and bohemian) but also casual (tartan & basic tees).

7. Etsy: Etsy is a quirky online store that sells everything and anything you would ever possibly need, and more. From handmade vintage garments to mobile phone accessories; you are bound to find something that catches your eye on this site. The best thing about Etsy is that it sells products from all over the world, so it is very unlikely your friends will have the same jewellery, clothes etc as you.

8. Forever 21: Unfortunately the nearest Forever 21 store to me is in Bristol so instead of travelling all the way there, I usually shop online. Forever 21 is unbelievably affordable and so fashionable! It is one of my top 5 online clothing stores that I often spend hours browsing through.

9. Miss Pap: I discovered Miss Pap a long time ago and have bought alot of dresses/playsuits from them. The quality of the dresses is good, however I have had one issue with the website. I ordered a sweet heart neckline little black dress thinking that it would look the same on the model as it would on me (big mistake!), I tried the dress on and it was too big on the boob area and made me look slightly chubbs....ain't nobody got time fo' dat!! So obviously I returned the item but I had to pay for the delivery and the refund took 2 weeks to process so I ended up spending a lot more than I anticipated. OTHER THAN THIS I have had NO trouble with the site, so please do not be disheartened/ put off by this because the garment was nice it just didn't suit me haha.

10. Romwe: I am yet to order something off this site, due to it being a US site and I can't be dealing with waiting a month+ for delivery. The garments on the site are gorgeous and I have eyed up so many nice coats that I have mentally bought haha. After Xmas I will be sure to check out this store to see if any of the coats I want have been discounted then I will order one. If you like online stores that are quirky and different then, this one may be for you!!

I said at the start of this post that it was going to be 'quick' however it took me well over an hour to write this haha, I wanted to carefully select the best websites for you all whilst watching the vampire diaries which isn't a good combination because admittedly it distracted me.

Hope you are all well, thank-you so much for taking the time to read my blog it means alot.

OCTOBER & NOVEMBER FAVOURITES

Saturday, November 22, 2014

Hello Fashionistas!

Today, I am going to be sharing with you some of my October and November favourites!

Note : I haven't included any outfits or clothes favourites because I decided to do this blog post last minute and the lighting was too bad to photograph proper outfits. If I have time I will shoot some outfit looks for my October + November favourites and add them in at the end :).

I just cannot get enough of this mango & papaya body spray it literally smells like heaven,
and at £1.48 it is an absolute bargain! (Superdrug)

This refreshing, summer body spritzer will leave you smelling like strawberries and cream all day!
Also £1.48 from Superdrug.

I recently spotted these in Primark the other week and I knew that I just had to pick them up!
The beautiful silver pattern really caught my eye, and I thought it would look good with my white and black deco in my room. These are going to be used just for decoration but for £1.50 each it really isn't an issue.

The candles were not included, I bought them from the same place separately.

Two cute candle holders/jars. These can be used for candles, holding sweets etc.
I loved the look of these jars and thought that they would look so nice on my windowsill.
Both of them together were under £5.00, I am not entirely sure the actual amount separately.
(From: B&M Bargains)

This cute, heart candle set is only £1.49!!!

I am unbelievably OBSESSED with this watch! I got it online from a website called http://www.dresslink.com/ which is a Chinese clothing website. I watched some hauls on Youtube where this website was mentioned so I checked it out and was so surprised with the amount of nice things on there. This item came within 12 days of me ordering it, which is amazing (considering it is coming all the way from China). I think this watch was £3-£4 which is sooo affordable.
I have been LOVING this Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner recently. I was browsing through YouTube videos when I came across 'MissLoopyLouful's video on her favourite hair products.
She was saying how Mixed Chicks has done wonders for her hair, and I thought to myself, Hmm I need to try this! This product is an American brand so I had to have it shipped which was quite pricey, however I am so glad that I did! It's brought out my natural curls and eliminated my frizz completely. GIRLS WITH CURLY HAIR I KNOW THE STRUGGLE...BUT YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PRODUCT.  Around £15.00 for product and delivery.

Not really appropriate for winter wear, but you can never have enough sunglasses!
They look so big on my face ffs, so I doubt that I will be wearing these out alot but I reckon with the right outfit these shades could look smashing! (From: Ebay)
These are what they look like on!

I would pair these boots with leggings, an oversized jacket and a plain black crop top/or a skirt, with tights, a black crop top and a duster coat.
Every girl needs a pair of these in their wardrobe for the Winter, and at only £12.00 you'd be mad to miss out! (From: Primark)

I am loving this berry lipstick this autumn. It has good pigmentation and smells divine. I would recommend this lipstick to girls who like dark colours that create a dramatic look! This lipstick is long-lasting and doesn't come off after you've eaten food, which is a bonus because I am such a messy eater ahaha. I think this lipstick would look great on any skin tone because it is so versatile and can be worn casually or to an event.

Shade: 1. Seduction

I wouldn't normally wear a shade this bright but I thought I would try it out. - note: this shade is ALOT brighter in person and has more of an orangey under tone. This shade has a moisturising feel to it and isn't a matte lipstick which I prefer anyway. I think this colour would look great on a darker skin tone (tanned, mixed race. black). The colour lasts a good few hours but will need a top-up every now and then. I bought this from Superdrug for £2.99.

Shade: 5. Passion Fruit

Swatch Test.

Brighter shade- Passion fruit (on the left)
Darker shade- Seduction (on the right)

Now we all know that winter is approaching, so I thought it would be the right time to treat myself to another brown bag to add to my collection. I love that the bag comes with straps so I can decide whether I want to hold it or put it on my shoulder. The vintage leather look straight away caught my attention and I have had a lot of people asking where I bought it from!! I will do an outfit shoot soon with this bag included in it so you lovely people can see it better.

Hope you are all well, thank-you so much for taking the time to read my blog it means alot.

Everyday Makeup & Reviews

Saturday, May 10, 2014

Hello fashionistas!

Today's blog post is going to be an 'everyday makeup' beauty post, I have not done one of these before so I thought it would be nice to share with all of you the beauty products I use everyday, whilst giving a review on each product.

Foundation- No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in Honey. £14.50
I love this foundation so much because it has medium coverage, it does not look excessive on my face
and I have found that most people do not realise that I am even wearing foundation. It doesn't come off throughout the day and matches my skin tone perfectly. I use my M.A.C makeup brush to apply my foundation (see below).

Concealer- Collection in 14- Honey beige £1.99
I have been using this concealer for years now and it was one of the first beauty products that I purchased. This product is the perfect solution to getting rid of dark under eye circles and blemishes! The only bad thing I could say about this concealer is that it does not last all day, so you may need to apply some foundation on over the top and powder to ensure that it stays on. ( I have forgotten to include my No7 powder in this blog post but I will do a review of it on my next beauty post).

Primer- NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer (Shade 684) £3.49
I originally bought this primer for my prom makeup last year and I have been using it ever since. I usually use a brush to apply this primer (see below) just after I have put on my nivea (face) lotion. I do like this primer because it makes sure that my foundation stays on all day and evens out my skin tone. I sometimes apply too much primer and it makes my face look really oily oops. The most annoying thing about primer is waiting for it to set for a few minutes before I can apply my foundation.

Eyeliner- Rimmel London Exaggerate Eyeliner £5.00
I have only been using this liquid liner for the past few months- before I was using Maybelline New york gel liner (£7.99). I have found that liquid eyeliner is much easier to apply to the lids, it creates a smooth finish and takes alot less time. I often don't wait long enough for my eyeliner to dry and it ends up at the top of my eyelids, to avoid this wait a few minutes for the liquid to set.

Mascara- Maybelline New York, The Rocket Volum' Express £7.99
I have purchased alot of mascaras in the past trying to find the 'right one' for me and this is the closest mascara I could find. The wand is fab and it add volume to my lashes. It dries pretty quickly and doesn't give me any clumps or smudges. It can create a dramatic look or a simple look depending on how many layers/coats you apply. However it is quite hard to take the mascara off even with a make-up wipe it goes flaky and leaves clumps.

Lipstick- Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte Finish (107)  £5.49
I love this lipstick so much! The deep berry red matte finish is fabulous for a night out. As the lipstick is matte I put lipbalm on before applying it to my lips. This product is very long lasting even after you've eaten, it smells so lovely which is a bonus. The packaging of the product is fierce and very eye catching, the only bad thing I could say about this lipstick is that it does leave your lips feeling dry after usage. But all in all a good investment for what it is worth.

Eyebrow Pencil- MUA Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit £2.00 ish
All-In-One Shape, Shade & Highlight.
This product got recommended to me by a friend a few months back and I can honestly say it is one of the best beauty products I have ever bought. The eyebrow kit contains eyebrow tweezers, an eyebrow brush and a colour palette. I would recommend this product to beginners who want nice brows for a cheap price. The brown (brow) colour does last a long time but can be tricky to apply unless you know what you're doing, it has came off in the rain before but I normally put quite a few layers on just in case.

These are the M.A.C brushes that I use to apply my everyday makeup, above them are the products I use daily. The brush beneath my eyebrow kit is usually used for applying lipgloss/lipstick however I found it more useful to use for my brows. It is so important to clean your brushes once a week because bacteria can build up and cause all types of skin problems such as acne and clogged up pones.

This is what my everyday makeup looks like.

Hope you are all well, thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog, it means alot.

Trip to liverpool & OOTD

Thursday, April 17, 2014

Hello fashionistas!

My blog post today is going to be a bit different to what I would normally post. I thought I would share with you all, pictures of my trip to Liverpool. As you may know my dad is a massive fan of Liverpool FC, so he decided to take us down to Liverpool for a few days.

On Tuesday afternoon we attended the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster; people came in their thousands to pay their respects to those fans who did not make it home that dreadful day of April 15th 1989. We laid flowers to commemorate the 96 people who passed away. The atmosphere in the stadium was that of distress and sorrow as the mother of one of the victims paid her tributes. The souful choir sang exquisite hymns in harmony which made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and created a sense of tranquillity throughout the stadium.

The Hillsborough memorial service tickets and the hymn booklet issued when we entered the stadium.

Shankly's gates reading 'You'll never walk alone'.

Hundreds of scarfs tied to the railings of the gates to remember the deceased fans of 89'.

The thousands of football fanatic fans that attended the ceremony.

After the memorial ceremony, I was longing to try the scouse traditional meal of curry &chips;
believe me when I tell you that it tasted better than it looked.

Tuesday evening we explored a few places in Liverpool, we located Mathew street best-known worldwide as the location of the cavern club where The Beatles played on numerous occasions in their early career.

Me posing with the John Lennon statue.

Unfortunately the shop was closed when we arrived.

A photograph of The Beatles in their younger days.

My favourite make-up shop M.A.C.

We visited a chinese buffet for dinner, the food was delicious!

                                                         Black & white attire (OOTD)

We went for a ride on the echo wheel of Liverpool in Albert Dock and saw some spectacular sights, the big cathedral and our hotel (Hampton by Hilton).

I was very apprehensive going on this ride because I am not great with heights but I am so glad I did.
Jess and myself on the Liverpool wheel.

We spend the whole of wednesday sight seeing, visiting muesums and shopping in the city centre.
OOTD

Visiting the slavery museum was truly moving; witnessing what black people used to go through has completely changed my perspective on life. I have learned alot from the brief 45 minutes in the muesum.

My blog post was longer than usual today and I have cut alot out of my two days spent in Liverpool ( I will spare you the boredom). These pictures were taken with my Nikon Coolpix L120 and my I phone 5.

Hope you are all well, thank-you so much for taking the time to read my blog it means alot.
